What I've been doing all day every day..

My boyfriend has summer school, along with my other roommate and several of my friends. Whoever isn't in summer school has a summer research job, which leaves me all by myself Monday through Friday from 8-5. So I've had to occupy my time with knitting, crocheting, and general crafting. Oh the horror! So here are some of my recent projects. You can see way more pictures on my facebook page. Enjoy :)

Green market bag I made for Jan at JanMadeIt

Baby blanket I made for this beautiful little guy! It was my first shot at designing a baby blanket. How'd I do?

This beautiful young lady, Lorelei Decker is VERY special. She is a recent highschool graduate of my old highschool, Putnam City North. She is battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but if you get the pleasure of meeting her you could never tell! Her adament happiness and optimism during such a hard period of her life is such a treasure to witness. Here is the link to her CaringBridge page if you would like to keep track of her and keep her in your thoughts! The picture above is her in a prayer shawl I knitted for her. Blue for the thunder, of course :)

James Harden beard I made for one of my friends. The original intent was for him to wear it to game 6 of the NBA finals...but obviously that did not pan out. Oh well! better luck next year i suppose. THUNDER UP!

My friend (pictured) had a birthday last week, and I wanted to make him something really cool! Turns out that this is my favorite hat pattern now!

Hello Kitty :)

One of my general craft projects. I was going to buy some lace trim, then I was going to make some lace trim, but I ended up just crocheting a border around the edge. I like them :)

HOBBES! One of my favorite creations. :)

If you like anything you see, please visit my facebook page and "like" it. I would appreciate it very much! I also do custom orders if you want a different colored market bag, hat, or anything you can think of!

Guess the project: rows 6-8

So, I was not expecting to have much business this summer..but I was wrong! That means I haven't been able to crank out rows of this blanket as quickly as I would like. :(

Here are rows 6, 7, and 8! Once I get to row 10, I'm going to start on the rows for the next character so that you guys have the opportunity to guess both characters!

See if you can guess who it is! :)

Sweet summer

Words cannot even begin to describe how unbelievably excited I am that this semester is over. It definitely put me through a lot, but it's over..

NOW, I can finally do exactly what I have wanted to do everyday since the semester started--knit and crochet all day long. Appropriately such, I have been cranking out items faster than....well I don't have a good comparison, but pretty dang fast. Just yesterday, I made 3 purses, finished a row on my "Guess the project" project, and made a hat to wear while I cheered on my Oklahoma City Thunder last night (who beat the Lakers in a FABULOUS game last night! thunder up!).

I am also going to try to update this thing more regularly since it is summer, and I have absolutely zero plans except for occasionally making my way to OKC to visit mi familia. I will also be adding more things to my online store once I get a chance!

The last stretch..

 GOOD NEWS FIRST!
I found out yesterday that I got accepted into the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing for the BSN program starting in the fall! I am so excited to see where this takes me :)

On to other things:

I haven't really had time to do anything except study recently. 5 class periods, one week of finals, and 7 tests are standing in the way of me and my summertime. I, fortunately, am not taking any summer classes this year, so I will be spending my days catching up on neglected orders, and stocking up my inventory of "summery" crochet things. I'm thinking market bags, dishcloths, baby attire (diaper covers, photo props, etc), and possibly loose-crocheted vests and shirts. Thoughts? I need input since business has been slow recently! What would you buy during the summer months?

Here are some pretty pictures to look at. :)

The start of a blanket that I have been working on in order to relieve some stresses from studying for school.

Marketbag design that I'm thinking of making many of for the summer. Would this be useful to take to the beach?

REALLY cute pouf I made for my friend Ashley. If you look at the pricetag for them in stores, they can be up to $100! I definitely do not run that kind of price on these. I charge between $30 and $35, depending on how big you would want it :)

BABY GEAR! The diaper cover is only the most simple of designs I have, and these owl hats are just adorable :)) These are sized 0-6 months, but I can do different sizes based on your needs!

Update on the brain beanie I posted about SEVERAL months ago

and a coffee cozy. I like the basketweave stitch. :)

That's all for now. I probably won't be updating until after finals (May 10th).
also, please leave me some input about things you think I should make for the summer months! it would really help me out :)

Guess the project: 4th and 5th rows

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, for those of you that actually read this :)

Here are the new pictures of rows 4 and 5 of the blanket!

hint: there are going to be 2 characters featured on this blanket, and they both use the same colors.

Once the semester is finished, I plan to be cranking out rows every few days! so my posts will be filled with more than likely 5 rows at a time :)

Main Street Memorables

Well, some exciting things have been in the works recently for me. I am now selling many of my headbands and other products in a store called Main Street Memorables! It is this cute little shop that sells antiques, redone furniture, original creations (like mine!) and other things. It is all in all a CUTE store. If you're in Norman, OK and you can stop by there, the address is 531 E. Main St.

That being said, I have MORE exciting news! They will be participating in the OU CAC Mom's Day Vendor Showcase at Holiday Inn tomorrow from 9AM-4PM, and they are taking my products with them! This will hopefully be great exposure for me. *fingers crossed*

OU-themed headbands since there will be a lot of OU traffic at this place!

OKC Thunder headband! I unfortunately only have one made, but if you would like one let me know!

My newest creation: BOW HEADBANDS. So simple, and so cute. I love these things.

Last but not least, a bunch of hootie hair clips!

I also just got new business cards! I love them, and they were thuper duper inexpensive too.

Well, that's all I have for now. I will update on how the sales went later on!

Guess the project: 3rd row

I have officially finished 90 squares of the HUGE blanket I'm making for someone! The sad thing though, is that isn't even CLOSE to half of the squares I need for this blanket. There are 42 rows, and 30 squares for each row. That's 1,260 my friends! Needless to say, I have a long way to go, but here is the latest picture!

The black is the beginning of the border of one of the characters. I'm going to have to take pictures outside as the blanket grows! Keep checking up here to make sure you're not missing out on any pictures!

Also, here is a hint as to what characters are going to be on the blanket:

These are all of the colors that will be incorporated into the characters. Maybe this helps?
