Final Fantasy blanket, final product

I just realized that I never posted a finished picture of my final fantasy blanket! I posted them on my facebook page, but not here! 

 Final specs: 7x10 feet, 21 rows, with 30 squares in each row (630 squares). Final weight: 8 pounds. Duration: almost one year. Below, you can also see my mario mushroom blanket I made about 2 years ago :)

I will also be making a pattern for my South Park people as soon as I can, and it will be up for purchase on my Etsy store very soon! I will provide a free pattern for Stan on my next blog post, so stay tuned!

Guess the project WINNER!

Well, last week one of my wonderful customers correctly guessed the character that is featured on the blanket I am making!

The answer is: Final Fantasy 1 Warrior!

So, I was not expecting to have much business this summer..but I was wrong! That means I haven't been able to crank out rows of this blanket as quickly as I would like. :(

Here are rows 6, 7, and 8! Once I get to row 10, I'm going to start on the rows for the next character so that you guys have the opportunity to guess both characters!

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, for those of you that actually read this :)

hint: there are going to be 2 characters featured on this blanket, and they both use the same colors.

Once the semester is finished, I plan to be cranking out rows every few days! so my posts will be filled with more than likely 5 rows at a time :)

I have officially finished 90 squares of the HUGE blanket I'm making for someone! The sad thing though, is that isn't even CLOSE to half of the squares I need for this blanket. There are 42 rows, and 30 squares for each row. That's 1,260 my friends! Needless to say, I have a long way to go, but here is the latest picture!

The black is the beginning of the border of one of the characters. I'm going to have to take pictures outside as the blanket grows! Keep checking up here to make sure you're not missing out on any pictures!

Also, here is a hint as to what characters are going to be on the blanket:

These are all of the colors that will be incorporated into the characters. Maybe this helps?

Guess the crochet: project rules and 1st picture

Alright, I'm going to be doing a contest for everyone that actually reads my blog! This contest is going to take probably along the lines of 3-4 months, because it is so huge. Here are the logistics:

The thing I am making is a blanket. It will be 10 feet long by 14 feet side, and is 30 squares long by 42 squares wide. It is quite literally the most gigantic thing I've ever made! It is being commissioned by a friend of mine who LOVES video games (hint hint).

If you already know the answer from me telling you, please don't spoil everyone's fun of guessing!

The rules are pretty simple: guess the project and you get a FREE BEARD BEANIE of any color.

Yeah, I'm horrible at adding things with photoshop..if anyone wants to give me some tutorials that'd be great!

The following things will need to be included in the answer in order to win

• the names of the 2 characters featured on the blanket
• what video game they are from, specifically!

I will be posting pictures as I complete each row. I have only finished the first row right now, so I am really only posting this first picture as a shock value so you can see how wide this thing is!!

This is the first row.  Since the border is going to be Thunder blue (because the recipient of said blanket LOVES the OKC Thunder!!)

Rules for the contest!
1. You can only vote at www.craftyallie.blogspot.com. Any guesses made on FB will not be acknowledged.
2. You may only guess once per blog post that I've made on blogger.
2. I will not recognize guesses unless someone actually gets it right. If you haven't heard from me, no one has guessed correctly! Also, in regards to guesses, there are two characters I will be incorporating into this blanket. Both characters must be guessed correctly by the same person in the SAME comment in order to win! So even if you guessed the first character, if you want to continue guessing you'll need to include the first character name and the second character name in your comment.
3. If I have told you in person what these characters are going to be, please don't comment! If I've told you then you're probably already a good enough friend of mine and I've already made you something for free :)
