 AWESOME tutorials I found on pinterest. They turned out super cute. These are for Fletchers Dad&stepmom, and Mom&stepdad. :)

 I saw a picture on pinterest that showed cardboard letters being wrapped in yarn. The rest is all me! It was completely recycled (except I guess the yarn). I got the sticks from my backyard, and for the hangings on the back I used tabs from soda cans! And then I secured it all together with hot glue...lots and lots of hot glue..

End of the semester, finally!!

I am so happy this semester is over. Since last friday, I have recuperated most of my soul that anatomy had taken away. I ended up getting a 97% on the final and an A in the class! So happy. Overall I got 2 As and 2 Bs. Not bad. My sleep schedule has been quite reversed since I took my last final. I've been crafting (knitting, crocheting, etc) until about 6 AM, and then sleeping until about 3 or 4, repeat. Here are some of the things I have done since my last post!

 This is what 12 un-sewn scarves with no tassles look like! All but 3 were for Holiday orders.

I also got my online store up and running! I used a site called Weebly, and they are so wonderful! You can make any kind of website you want (store included) and they don't take a cut of your profits! I love this site. Anyway, you guys should check my store out right here!

Dr Who Scarf

So, in order to distract myself from the horrible lab practical I just took, I decided to write this post.

I'm making this AWESOME scarf for Fletcher for christmas. Since we live together, it was pretty much impossible to keep it a secret. But that's okay. I found the directions for this scarf here. This person (or people) have listed out fabulous directions to make pretty much any version of the Dr. Who scarf actually featured in the series.

Latest completed projects

I have been way more busy than I'd like to admit. HOPEFULLY, I can return to having a normal life after finals week (not this week), but next week. I only have a practical, 3 extra credit papers (that are due today...I should probably get on that..), and 4 finals until freedom! Honestly, it's my anatomy final I'm the most scared about. It's so hateful :(
Anyway, here are some of the projects I have finished up since my last post! Not quite as many as my last post though.

 This is my absolute favorite headband I've ever made. BOOMER SOONER!

Busy busy end-of-the-semester craziness.

So, I've gotten several orders on my FB page craftyallie, and I appreciate all the support! I'm trying to get this blog to have a little bit more traffic, but FB is fine for now :)

So, this is only the beginning of my very long attempt to knit fingerless mits with a flap. This was attempt #1

As you can see, everything is going just swimmingly, and I was about to add on the flap (hence the four needles)

And then I messed up on the flap, and had to rip it all out. Honestly, the glove was WAY too big anyway.

And here are my pieces to a poncho I'm making for a friend, which can be seen in my previous post, WIP knit poncho. The checkered fleece it's laying on will be the inner-lining (because it is bound to be freezing this winter here in Oklahoma).

Halloween, a little late

So, I made the cutest moustach for my nephew last weekend. He went as a 1920s mobster, so I obviously had to make him a binkey moustach! I found the pattern here. It took me two seconds, and it is SO CUTE.

Yeah, this kid is awesome. :) 

I also have been working on some projects in this past week. I'm almost finished with my friend Rainier's poncho, a headband for my sister, and a Gryffindor scarf for an anatomy friend of mine! I'm excited to see how they all turn out. Hopefully they will be finished by today or tomorrow. I'll post pictures when I'm done. 

Other than that, not much else is going on. Like I said in my "about me", I don't do much except study and make things. I'm happy with that though :)

Game-day potato wedges

I can't sleep, so I thought some late-night blogging might help :)

These are probably the most delicious thing I have ever made. Sure, they aren't that difficult, but it surprisingly took me quite a while to figure out how to cut the potatoes, how long to leave them in the oven, etc.  Cheese and bacon are EXCELLENT things to add too. I'm also a big fan of preparing hand-made foods rather than buying processed foods! These are a great frozen-french fry alternative.

Time: about 45 minutes--15 minutes for preparing, and 30 minutes for baking

Things you'll need:

• 5 or so medium sized potatoes (each potato yields 8 potato wedges)
• a large baking sheet
• aluminum foil to cover the baking sheet (optional). Make sure to put the dull side "up"
• LOTS of pam to spray the foil with (the wedges will stick like no other without this)
• a bowl to mix the wedges in with the vegetable oil 
• 4 Tbsp Vegetable oil (or enough to lightly coat the wedges)
• Garlic Salt (to your preference)
• Seasoned Salt (to your preference)
• Shredded cheese
• Bacon (optional) cut up into small pieces

Step 1

Gather your materials, and cut your potato wedges. The potatoes are lined up in the picture in the order that you would cut them. The last two on the right are just two of the wedges lined up. 

Step 2

 Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees!

Step 3

Add your seasonings. First coat the potatoes with 4 Tbsp of vegetable oil, so that the seasonings can "stick" onto them. Then sprinkle your garlic salt, and seasoning salt.

Step 4

Line the pan with aluminum foil and spray it with a LOT of pam. If you think you have used enough, you probably haven't. Add more! If you want, spray the tops of the wedges with some pam also--it makes them crispier! Then line the pan with the wedges (like pictured) so they will cook evenly. Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 5

After 15 minutes has passed, take the potato wedges out and flip them. Using 2 forks works the best for me. Spray more pam, because it will have evaporated. Put them back in the oven for another 13 minutes.

Step 6

Add cheese and bacon (not pictured), and put them back in the oven until cheese is fully melted.

I don't have a picture of the final product, but trust me, it's delicious. Make these on game-day, and enjoy while watching your favorite team (cough...Sooners...cough) whoop some butt on the field!
